2008 Trip to Guatemala

While there we visited the home of Candice and Cameron Krummel. Candice organized the non-profit Cojolya Association of Maya Women Weavers in 1983. It is dedicated to the preservation of backstrap loom ewaving and the traditons which surround it. This association offers a way for these skilled artists to make a living wage with the production of their magnificent textiles. To learn more visit http://www.cojolya.org/main/ .

Candice's some Cameron supports helpsinternational.org which supports the installation of Onil Stoves in homes of the weavers. This stove was designed to use 70% less wood and a much safer environment for the families. Learn more about the stove at http://www.helpsinternational.org/
